Church History
10th Grade—One Semester
Students study the book, The Church in History. Students survey a history of Christian thought from Greek influences to the 20th century.
Comparative Religions and Cults
11th—One Semester
Students study contemporary cults as compared to Christianity, major religions of the world, and the reliability and authority of the Bible. The main textbook used is Handbook of Today’s Religions. As a part of the course requirements, students must complete 8 hours of community service (outside of the school day) per quarter, totaling 16 hours per semester.
Christian Ethics (12)
12th Grade—One Semester
Students are taught to understand some of the major worldviews in existence today (humanism, pragmatism, hedonism, etc.). They learn to develop a Christian worldview, with a focus on approaching issues from a Biblical perspective. Several of the prominent ethical issues of the day (euthanasia, capital punishment, abortion, homosexuality, etc.) are examined in detail in light of Scripture. The main textbooks used are Lifeviews and Ethics For a Brave New World Each student must complete a major research paper. As a part of the course requirements, students must complete 8 hours of community service (outside of the school day) per quarter, totaling 16 hours per semester.
