Upper School Physical Education

Physical Education is a course designed to aid the student in meeting the physical, emotional, and social demands of living. This is achieved through the selection of and guidance in those physical activities directed toward the total fitness of the individual. This program is carried out with particular emphasis on participation and attainment of knowledge in a variety of activities including individual and team sports and fitness activities. Emphasis is placed on various ways of maintaining personal physical fitness at various levels and under varying circumstances.

Athletics is an extracurricular sports program. It is based on organized, interscholastic competition. Any male or female student may participate as long as he/she meets the eligibility requirements of the Alabama High School Athletic Association, of which Trinity is a member, and meets individual team standards required in each particular sport. The Athletics elective includes all competitive, interscholastic teams, as well as Cheerleading and Dance Team. Team tryouts are held in most sports. Students on an extracurricular school-sanctioned team receive 1/2 unit of physical education credit during the semester of participation.
