Computer Web Page Design I
One Semester
Web Page Design is designed to give students an understanding of Web Page construction/design.
Computer Web Page Design II
One Semester
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Web Page Design I
Web Page Design II is a continuation of technologies learned in the Web Page Design I course. This course further utilizes advanced Web authoring software and tools.
Office XP
One Semester
This computer course focuses solely on Microsoft Office XP, the most widely used productivity software on college campuses. Emphasis is placed on word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and information management.
Desktop Publishing
The course will teach students how to use advanced desktop publishing software. The course will also cover page layout and photo editing techniques. Students will complete several projects ranging from brochures to publications.
Computer Graphics
One Semester
Prerequisite: Teacher approval
The course includes an introduction to graphics, beginning with MS Paint and advancing to Illustrator and PhotoShop. Emphasis is also placed on using graphics in MS Publisher and Web pages.
Advanced Computer Graphics
One Semester
Prerequisite: Student must have completed Computer Graphics and Desktop Publishing
This is a project-oriented class designed for students who want to increase their computer image portfolio.
Technology Media
One Semester
Prerequisite: Teacher approval
Designed to familiarize students with using technology in video production and editing. This will be a project- and school service-oriented course. Theme and composition using award-winning films as reference will also be incorporated into the study. This is a full year course.
Technology in Theatre I
One Semester
Prerequisite: Teacher approval
The Technology in Theatre Program is open to students who wish to gain experience on state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. This program will introduce students to various aspects of live and studio entertainment design and production and opportunities for apprenticeships in professional studios and theatre. It also is a comprehensive survey of the technical and design aspects, including scene design and construction, lighting, sound, costume and makeup. Students will work through the process from initial conceptualization to technical implementation and, finally, to presentation.
Technology in Theatre II
One Semester
Prerequisite: Teacher approval
The Technology in Theatre
Program is open to students who wish to gain experience on
state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. This program is a more in depth continuation of various aspects of live and studio entertainment
design and production methods covered in Technology in Theatre I. Students focus in more detail on aspects of live production including set, lighting and sound design from initial conceptualization to technical
implementation and, finally, to presentation.
