Choral Program at Trinity
Trinity’s Choral Program offers students the opportunity to develop their musical talents while using their voices to glorify God. Beginning in K3, students receive regular music instruction and participate in monthly chapel performances through 5th grade, laying a strong foundation in rhythm, melody, and musical expression.
In Middle and Upper School, students can participate in Middle School Choir, Show Choir, and the auditioned ensemble, Voices of Trinity. Each group prepares music for performances throughout the year, while also developing essential skills such as vocal technique, sight-singing, ear training, and music literacy.
The heart of Trinity’s choral program is to cultivate confident, well-rounded musicians with a lasting love for singing—whether on stage, in worship, or in their communities.
Students are encouraged to grow not only as performers, but as artists who understand the discipline and joy of using their gifts for a greater purpose.
Choral Opportunities
Lower School Music
---
Students in K3–5th grade attend music class weekly, building a strong foundation in rhythm, melody, and joyful worship. Each grade level participates in leading chapel services and special performances throughout the year. Highlights include the K5 Christmas program, which tells the story of Jesus’ birth, and 1st Grade’s Angel Choir, which shares the message of Christ throughout the community.
Middle School Choir
Middle School Choir invites young singers to explore a range of vocal styles, from classical to contemporary. Students perform in 'Twas the Night and the Spring Choral Concert, as well as at community events. Instruction includes sight-singing, music theory, and vocal technique, all taught from a biblical worldview.
Trinity Show Choir
Trinity Show Choir is for students with a passion for singing and dancing. Admission is based on a two-part audition (vocal and dance). Students develop proper vocal technique, music theory, sight-singing, and dance skills, while engaging in faith-based discussions about the arts. Performances take place throughout the year at school functions and community events.
Voices of Trinity
Voices of Trinity is a concert choir focused on glorifying God through choral music. Students grow spiritually and musically by studying sacred texts, exploring music history and scripture, and performing a variety of genres and multicultural works. Emphasis is placed on sight-singing, music theory, vocal technique, and ensemble performance, with opportunities for solos and small group features.
Patrick ClevelandPatrick Cleveland brings a passion for both music and ministry to Trinity’s choral program, where he leads the Middle School Choir, Show Choir, and Voices of Trinity. A lifelong vocalist with deep roots in choral and worship music, Patrick was actively involved in choir and show choir throughout high school under the direction of his father at Oak Mountain. While in college, he served as a worship leader for the First Baptist College Ministry and continued leading worship during the summers in Decatur. He remains an active part of the worship community at First Baptist Montgomery, serving on the Sunday night worship team and as a dedicated member of the adult choir. Patrick’s goal is to help students grow in their musical gifts while encouraging them to use their voices to glorify God—developing confidence, excellence, and a love for worship through choral performance. |
