Theatre Arts Program | Trinity Presbyterian School Fine Arts

Theater at Trinity

Trinity’s Theatre Department offers students the opportunity to grow as confident, creative storytellers both on and off the stage. Each spring, over 100 Upper School students come together to produce a full-scale musical—bringing to life a vibrant performance that showcases their talents in acting, singing, set design, and technical production.

In addition to performance opportunities, students can take classes in Theater Arts and Set Design, gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of stagecraft. Whether center stage or behind the scenes, Trinity’s theater program equips students with the skills, discipline, and collaboration needed to become well-rounded artists—all while honoring the ultimate Creator through the art of storytelling.

Patrick Cleveland

Patrick Cleveland brings a passion for both music and ministry to Trinity’s choral program, where he leads the Middle School Choir, Show Choir, and Voices of Trinity. A lifelong vocalist with deep roots in choral and worship music, Patrick was actively involved in choir and show choir throughout high school under the direction of his father at Oak Mountain.

While in college, he served as a worship leader for the First Baptist College Ministry and continued leading worship during the summers in Decatur. He remains an active part of the worship community at First Baptist Montgomery, serving on the Sunday night worship team and as a dedicated member of the adult choir.

Myla Kelley - Director of Theater Arts

For over three decades, Mala Kelley has brought vision, creativity, and heart to Trinity’s theater program. What began as a single musical production has grown into one of the most beloved and anticipated traditions on campus. Each spring, students from all areas of campus life come together to create something extraordinary—without having to sacrifice their other interests and commitments.

Mala’s passion for the arts was evident long before she joined Trinity in 1991. As a child, she organized backyard performances and parades, and later earned degrees in Secondary English, Speech, and Elementary Education. With the encouragement of school leadership and the support of dedicated parents and colleagues, she launched the school’s first musical—laying the foundation for a vibrant theater program that continues to thrive.

Under her leadership, Trinity’s stage has become a place where students discover hidden talents, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Thousands of cast and crew members have benefited from this experience, and the impact of Trinity’s theater program is seen in the joy, teamwork, and excellence it inspires year after year.
