Trinity’s James Treadwell Finishes Undefeated Season
- Wins Fifth Consecutive Section Singles and Doubles Titles
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Trinity Presbyterian School proudly celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of senior James Treadwell, who completed his undefeated season with a dominant performance at the AHSAA 6A Section 2 Tennis Tournament in Mobile on Monday. Treadwell remains perfect on the year with a 20-0 record in singles and a 21-0 record in doubles, leading the Wildcats to a second-place team finish and a spot in the 6A State Tournament.
Competing at the #1 singles position, Treadwell defeated Saraland’s Caden Kelly (6-1, 6-0) in the semifinals before staging a thrilling comeback against Pike Road’s Jakob White (3-6, 6-3, 1-0 [10-7]) in the championship match.
In #1 doubles, Treadwell teamed up with Jameson Sanders, and the pair defeated Saraland’s Kelly/Curtis (6-2, 6-0) in the semifinals before overpowering Pike Road’s White/Cobb (7-5, 6-2) to win the title.
With these wins, Treadwell captured his fifth straight section championship in both singles and doubles—having earned titles every year since 2021. His doubles victory also marked a milestone for Sanders, who claimed his first section championship in both singles and doubles.
“James is a once-in-a-generation player whose commitment to excellence sets the tone for our entire program,” said the Head Coach. “ To go undefeated in both singles and doubles this season, and to win five straight section titles, is a testament to his focus, leadership, and drive. We’re thrilled for him and proud of how our whole team performed.”
Trinity finished second overall in the tournament with 21 points, just behind Houston Academy’s 23 points. Pike Road followed with 19 points, while Saraland, Baldwin County, and Park Crossing rounded out the standings.
The varsity boys now turn their focus to the 6A State Tournament, where they’ll compete against the top programs from across Alabama.
